Elisa was awesome! She took care of us from the moment we walked in and make our stay enjoyable and memorable. It was our first time to California as a family and she went above and beyond to make it special. My wife loves views of the ocean.
We stayed in a King room with an ocean view. The ocean view is worth the upgrade. However, the bathroom was weird: the bathtub was on a slope, not leveled. Small sink counter with barely any surface space.
I had the use of this hotel's parking lot to be able to attend Beachlife Festival through the Spothero app. It was such a value and the service was top notch. Everyone we came in contact with was super helpful and nice.
Getting married at The Portofino Hotel & Marina
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
