From the reviews
We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Sonesta. Everything was top notch from the rooms to the pool (and poolside bar) to the grass lawns and beach. Centrally located to access all parts of the island. The Royal Sonesta luau was best on island with delicious food by Chef Rey and amazing fire dances.
Located right on a nice quiet beach. The pool is huge and has a separate kids pool. Several hot tubes around the pool. Room was nice and clean. Local and on site food was very good.
I love this place where you have found a beautiful beach and a massive swimming pool. There are many good restaurants nearby that you can walk to as well. Sunset here is stunning, and you can also find activity services nearby.
Location and ease is what makes this place. Food on the resort is very mediocre and unfortunately they take every opportunity to nickel and dime you. Great if you are looking for a resort, that’s walking distance to everything you need and you plan on staying at the resort.
Getting married at The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort Lihue
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
