From the reviews
My teen daughter and I had a wonderful stay at the Sullivan House. We stayed in a suite, which was down a little from the main house. I liked the privacy and space of the suite. The inn keeper was very helpful and thoughtful. We had fun kayaking from their property. The town beach is a short walk across the street.
The Sullivan House and Block Island Catering were tremendous!! We got super lucky with a beautiful (although hot) day for the wedding! The Sullivan House looked fantastic and provided the beauty we wanted for our wedding.
Sean and his team put on the most beautiful off-site wedding for us. The event was flawless, our guests had a fabulous time, and enjoyed the food, bar, and atmosphere immensely -- all thanks to Sean's crew. We highly recommend Block Island Gourmet and the Sullivan House team to all who plan a Block Island wedding.
Staying at The Sullivan House is always a wonderful experience! We have stayed here twice now and both times have been incredible. The views are great, the rooms are quaint, the staff is extremely nice and helpful- all around a great experience. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
Getting married at The Sullivan House
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
