Stayed with my family. You are really five stars but I want to gatekeep you. Your staff is amazing. Every housekeeper, every concerirgette. You are all so lovely, So knowledgable. The rooms so comfy. We were in town for a family event and found this location perfect! After a long day of travel and visiting, we made it to the hotel with adjacent resturant and relaxed fireside. Retired to the spacious, clean and well appointed room and then woke up to sun and ability to have a walk water side.
I often host authors of children and young adult literature for events in Southern Connecticut. For a change of pace, I selected The Surfside Hotel for an overnight venue. It was a huge success, as its low-key location, balcony views of the Long Island Sound, and small beach were a perfect retreat.
Had an amazing time here for our anniversary trip. The rooms are so creative and fun, and more importantly clean. They text you updates and respond immediately with answers to potential questions. We even got responses and prompt service close to midnight which was very appreciated.
Getting married at The Surfside Hotel
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
