From the reviews
My husband and I decided to elope on New Year's Eve on December 23rd. We chose the Tide's Inn since my husband's parents honeymooned there 44 years ago. From the very moment we reached out to the Tides Inn, their staff provided exceptional service.
Our experience at the Tides Inn was truly unmatched. From the moment we arrived, every interaction with the staff felt personal, kind, and professional. Compared to other luxury properties we have stayed at, the Tides Inn offered a unique blend of relaxed elegance, genuine hospitality, and thoughtful service.
We recently visited the Tides Inn for a quick getaway, and what a wonderful place it is. We booked a king room in their "Windsor House". The room and the water view from the included balcony were terrific. Dinner at the Salt and Meadow restaurant was delightful.
Hidden gem in Irvington Va. The northern neck waterfront resort community with 2 restaurants, posh waterfront rooms, stunning lounge areas. A romantic couple getaway or sweet spot to gather with family and lets the kids play in the pool or clean beach areas.
Getting married at The Tides Inn
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
