From the reviews
Such a wonderful place to spend a week in the summer! Mr. Hollister runs a clean and friendly place. We always get a room with the kitchen attached and we have a great time! I believe we have stayed there ten out of the last eleven years. There is always something to do on the property.
Such a relaxing and perfect place! Great hospitality and the location can't be beat. Already planning next year's trip.
I came here as a child and decided to bring my family back. It was the perfect place for a family vacation! There were plenty of boats to use (sailboat, paddleboat, canoe, kayak, rowboat). The accommodations are plain, but not what I came for. I came for the special location and was not disappointed.
We rented a cottage. Clean and stocked, including soap. Not much of a view due to the vegetation but we loved the area and easy access to the water and beaches. The owner, Frank, is the easiest person in the world to get along with.
Getting married at The Water's Edge
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
