We chose this hotel for our honeymoon, and it truly exceeded every expectation. From the moment we pulled up and were greeted by valet, we felt like we were stepping into something special. The service was warm, welcoming, and made us feel celebrated from day one. Our ocean view room was absolutely breathtaking.
Beautiful room with 2 queen beds and a very nice outdoor space. Double sink bathroom and heated toilet seat with bidet function. Water station on the level outdoor to refill your filtered water bottle.
This place was amazing for our last couple nights on the big island. It was our first time to the big island and we quickly realized we didn’t like the lava rock which covers most of the area. We found the Westin our last couple nights and their beach is the nicest one we found!
Nice overall. It was a quieter time on the island and so maybe that helped, but easy at the hotel to get beach and pool chairs, etc. The lobby area is fairly dramatic with a view down to the beach. It is sort of odd that there is such a tiny bar (maybe 10 tables) in that space.
Getting married at The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
