Beautiful and clean hotel. As soon as you walk in you get that amazing Westin scent. Rooms feel clean and spacious. The bed and bedding is amazing. Views across the road of New York City are incredible. A great spot for a quiet stay amongst a busy city. Shopping mall next door. Staff are friendly and polite.
The Westin Newport in Jersey City was a really nice stay overall, with a comfortable, polished feel from the moment you walk in. The rooms were clean and modern, the beds were very comfortable, and the skyline views added something special to the experience.
The Westin delivered good value for the money in Jersey City. Mattress was comfortable and sleep quality was never an issue with the shades that were very effective in keeping room dark; cleanliness was on par with my travel standards as a Marriott Bonvoy member; but lost marks came with lack of walk in shower on what…
We stayed at the Westin Jersey City Newport for our wedding weekend, and I could not recommend it more. Working with Cynthia to organize the wedding room blocks was so seamless. Communication was straightforward and supportive.
Getting married at The Westin Jersey City Newport
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
