From the reviews
I visited Viking Cove this past week on a family trip, and I cannot say enough good things about this gorgeous venue! There are several cabins on the property, along with a large barn for workshops and events, and an absolutely stunning main house, where the owners will host dinners for their guests with almost 360…
Awesome group of cabins with common firepit area. Owner let us use the barn for a wedding reception. Cabins were clean and nicely updated with friendly staff. Near the water with a beautiful rocky beach. Short drive to downtown Haines.
Was in town with our band KingSwardFish playing a bunch of shows and we were lucky enough to stay here. This is such a beautiful spot! Bill, the owner was so gracious and we really hit it off! We sat around a big table talking, like we had been friends for years.
Amazing place! Gorgeous nature, extremely friendly and accommodating owners, and magnificent view! The cabins (very clean and cozy) are 100 feet away from the shore, yet surrounded by huge pine trees giving extra privacy and immersive "close to the nature" experience.
Getting married at Viking Cove Guest Homes
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
