My wife and I got married here just a few days ago. Absolutely amazing experience. The mansion is gorgeous and everyone seemed to enjoy being able to explore the museum during our reception. Also, Adam is an absolute champ. Before a snafu could've happened, he was already on the scene making it right

My December wedding and reception at the mansion was truly magical. The festive Christmas decorations created a warm and enchanting atmosphere, and the entire staff, from the helpful administrators to the incredibly kind on-site coordinator, Rick Schwab, went above and beyond to ensure a flawless event.

Fantastically restored late 1800's mansion. Many rooms are open as part of the museum and are representative of the era that they built and lived in. This place hosts many events through the year, but it worth visiting even if there is not a event.

Beautiful woodwork and great historical views. Great use of antique furniture and staging. You can almost see people dancing in period area clothes if you think about it that way.

Getting married at Watson-Curtze Mansion at the Hagen History Center

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
