I came out to Montauk just for a night and booked a stay at Windward Shores. It is the middle of winter and raining but the amenities were excellent for a nice day(tennis courts, pool and private beach).
Windward Shores is a hidden gem, especially during the “off season”! I’ve stayed in both a studio and 2 bedroom apartments and they were fantastic! The rooms are spacious, the rooms with ocean views are breathtaking, the beach…ridiculously close!
The Hamptons are expensive, we know this. But this place is great for your stay out here. The rooms are big, and lofts are great. 4 people can sleep here extremely comfortably as there was 1 queen bed, and 2 twins. It’s possible the couch is a pull out but we did check since we didn’t need it.
Stayed here in September for a beautiful weekend for our moms 60th birthday celebration. We had such a wonderful time. It was end of September so it was nice and quiet. Pool and beach were stunning and quiet. The unit we stayed in were clean.
Getting married at Windward Shores Ocean Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
