From the reviews
The Zane Grey is an outstanding place to stay while on Catalina Island. We had the good fortune of staying in the honeymoon suite, and then later, on the top floor of their newer addition. Both rooms had SPECTACULAR views of the island. The decor is tasteful and appropriate with warm tones and a breezy, beachy feel.
Please don’t believe the bad reviews previously given. This is a great restoration on the historical Zane Grey homesite The rooms remodeled are clean, and contemporary. The views are some of the best to be had in Avalon. Watch all the harbor and city action from sunrise on from the patio.
The hotel is nestled up in the top of the hill at the end of town so if you like to be away from the hustle and bustle this is definitely for you! A little inconvenient if you want to go back and forth between town and the hotel. The view from our balcony was spectacular so we spent alot of time there!!
We stayed only one night but wish we could have stayed longer. It was a beautiful room with a view that was unbelievable. We could see every landmark and out on the beautiful pacific. Our balcony wrapped all the way around the room: our living area was comfortable with large windows.
Getting married at Zane Grey Pueblo Hotel
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
