We had our wedding at Above ALX in late October, and words can’t describe how amazing the space is. First of all – the views – being able to see for miles in all directions – unmatched in Old Town.
My husband and I got married at Above ALX in May had had a fantastic experience. Not only was the space gorgeous with the stunning views and well-appointed interior design, but the staff we so accommodating and friendly. Kelly was an excellent communicator and supported us for a great execution.

I hosted my engagement party at Above ALX and it was phenomenal! Honestly, nothing but good things to say about this venue. It is a 360 view of Old Town Alexandria, has the BEST sunset views, and the layout of the space is just so stunning.
Getting married at Above ALX Community
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
