From the reviews
Our large wedding group recently stayed at The Alexandrian, and I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone traveling with a crowd. Coordinating a large party can often be a logistical headache, but the team here made it look effortless.
The location is amazing. Biggest selling point by far. The hotel is undergoing some renovations, which are needed. I probably should have asked for a different room. Mine was not clean to Marriott standards - dusty, worn, leaky faucets, scuff marks all over the walls, broken fan in the bathroom, etc.
Great hotel, right in the heart of Old Town Alexandria! Comfy bed, very nice rooms with charming decor. Also walkable to waterfront and a zillion restaurants/dining and entertainment options.
My wife and I had a great experience at The Alexandrian. Bella was so friendly when we checked in and from there set the tone of our stay. You can’t beat the location and the walkability to all the shops and restaurants in Old Town. Parking was also very easy with a dedicated covered parking lot.
Getting married at The Alexandrian Old Town Alexandria, Autograph Collection
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
