Doesn’t appear that I can leave a second review so I’ll add to the first. This was our second year in a row visiting, was a great trip, did not disappoint. Cleanest bathrooms/ showers that we have come across in our travels. Excellent location. Can’t beat the views. More than just a OBX vacation.
Great experience camping at Avon By The Sea RV Park. The sites were not huge but adequate. Steady WiFi was a plus. Nice and CLEAN bathhouse. All of neighboring campers were friendly and the campground was really quiet at night. A 1 - 2 minute walk and you are on the beach or at the pool. We definitely plan to return.
I absolutely love this camp site and this is one of those unknown gems. The location is absolutely amazing. You are walking distance from several great restaurants, stores, and most of all, the fishing pier and beach.
We were here off season and just loved this campground. Perfect location literally adjacent to beach and Avon pier. Lovely pool area. Great for biking along path and to restaurants.
Getting married at Avon Pier & RV Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
