We had our wedding at Bluefin Bay and it was absolutely incredible. The entire experience—from planning to the big day—was beyond our expectations. The staff was amazing: friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that our guests were happy.
We stayed here 23 years ago for our honeymoon and returned for an overnight stay yesterday. Actually not much has changed except the prices, which is to be expected. Stunning views, good restaurant, clean rooms overall and plenty to do for all individuals depending on your likes, wants and needs.
We stayed here for three nights and had a great time. Our particular unit was large, clean and recently remodeled. Great view into Lake Superior. Activities and tour guides were excellent. Short 2-3 hour adventures hiking, kayaking, etc., with our child were perfect 'samples' of the area.
Peaceful, scenic stay on Lake Superior! My partner and I stayed so we would be close to the SHT the following morning and were delighted with the thoughtful layout of the resort, its amenities, views throughout, and the Lake Walk boardwalk that offered a pleasant walk from our unit to the restaurant.
Getting married at Bluefin Bay on Lake Superior
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
