From the reviews
Stunning view of Port Washington towards the end of the park and lots of space for activities. Has a nice little preserve towards the end and a beautiful gazebo/pavilion in the center with a spiral staircase leading to a room on top. Cool little park nestled in Port Washington!
My hometown got this one right. This park is a great place to go to take a walk right next to the lake and take in the views of the town or maybe capture a sunrise over the harbor.
A really nice park right on the lake. Plenty of open green space, walking/biking paths, a gazebo with picnic tables and great views of the lake and the lighthouse. There's also a bridge that connects you to a nice path around a bird sanctuary.
The property is reclaimed from an old cold dock area for the adjacent power plant. They’ve done a phenomenal job, renovating the property and turning it into a park.
Getting married at Coal Dock Park
Coal Dock Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
