Sharon is such a Sanibel icon, living on island and working in the hospitality and rental industry for so long, she has a wealth of local knowledge and experience. As a smaller organization, owners and guests receive a very personalized service simply not available from the larger rental agencies.
We were lucky to find Sharon and her team at Cottages to Castles when we got bumped from our regular winter rental on Sanibel Island in 2022. They found us a place in our preferred location. We eagerly renewed for winter 2023 and extended our stay when Sharon called to tell us our unit opened up for additional weeks.
We will be relocating to Sanibel and renting a cottage while we look to purchase. Sharon is exceptional at her job and goes above and beyond to educate you on the area and make sure you have all of your questions answered and needs met.
Getting married at Cottages To Castles of Sanibel & Captiva
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
