Thistle Lodge recently reopened and the results are impressive. We had dinner with friends on Christmas eve. Wonderful beach view from the tables. All the staff were great and very accommodating. I ordered sea bass, my wife a seafood pasta, our friends ordered lamb and seafood. All were excellent.
A true resort dinning experience! The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The decor lends to the Island feel, and sitting outside you can hear the oceans waves and see the Gulf from certain areas.

Angela and Jeremiah were hilarious- so welcoming, goofy and lovely. We just had a small snack but they kept us laughing the entire time and the view is incredibly serene. The area is the epitome of tranquility. Will definitely be stopping to have a full meal next time!
Getting married at Thistle Lodge Beachfront Restaurant
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
