This is a nice old pier. Even on a gloomy day, it's a good place to visit before or after some lunch/shopping/hiking. Right before the Wharf, there is a marvelous cherry blossom tree and a cute donation box.🌸🌳 You can also take a right and walk up a hill to the wooded Town Park.
Quint little town on Penn Cove. The town is much smaller than I was expecting. Only a few shops and restaurants to explore. The view from the wharf is quite nice. Toby’s Tavern is a fun spot for affordable bar food and entrees. Front Street Grill is a little more upscale and busier option.
This is a wonderful spot to watch the sunset. There’s a small park nearby and even a charming little bookstore at the entrance that’s worth a stop. Coupeville goes back to the 1850s, when European settlers first arrived, and the town is still beautifully preserved.
Really beautiful historic wharf, plus a "ring the bell if you see a whale" bell around the back. Views are fantastic of the water and the town, all very rustic-looking. The shops inside aren't much to speak of but there is a whale, dolphin, and sea lion skeleton hanging from the ceiling!
Getting married at Coupeville Wharf
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
