From the reviews
We had our wedding at Captain Whidbey and I can’t underscore this enough: it was an absolutely magical experience. Miri and the entire CW team were wonderful to work with, and incredibly flexible and accommodating with everything from dietary restrictions to mercurial weather.
This place is a gem. The moment you walk into the lodge, you can feel the history. Between the wood-burning fireplace, the views, and the atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to truly unplug.
One of the most beautiful and unique hotels I’ve ever been to. It was so meticulously designed and curated. I felt like I was in a historic inn and also a lavish getaway. The rooms in the cabin are shared bathroom but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The spaces in the main house are to die for.
Had an amazing special occasion dinner here. Chef upgrades from what was offered years ago. Many gluten free options and delicious cocktails. Great view from a historic building. Likely haunted.
Getting married at Captain Whidbey
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
