Location is great! Sunset is stunning. After dinner music outdoors was really nice. The hotel could use an update. Smells musty. The front staff was super helpful at recommending local eateries. My sister and I had a great stay while in town for a Nicholas Sparks book signing.
I stayed one night at the DoubleTree by Hilton New Bern Riverfront and had a good overall experience. The highlight of the stay was definitely the beautiful river view from the room. Watching the sunrise and sunset over the water was truly peaceful and picturesque.
We visited the location last weekend while in New Bern and wanted to hang out by the River! We ordered some drinks from the Hotel lounge, where Tyler was tending Bar! He was very friendly asking where we were from and making sure everyone enjoyed their drinks!
I stayed on the fifth floor overlooking the marina where you could also watch the sunrise. That location is within walking distance of all the restaurants in downtown New Bern. It is a little outdated but the location makes up for this, IMO. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Getting married at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel New Bern Riverfront
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
