There are two elements of this business that are fantastic. First, the house itself is just absolutely beautiful, with so much character and charm, located right in historic downtown New Bern. David and Leigh have done an amazing job keeping with the original architecture.
I have had the pleasure to watch the loving restoration of this lovely historic home. Not only is the location in the middle of New Bern’s beautiful historic downtown but the grounds and rooms are a dream! If ever I need a space for an intimate event, I will be using Magnolia Manor!

Fabulous historic home that has become a beautiful venue for weddings and other events. Leigh is so genuinely sweet and thoughtful. She makes it such a pleasure to see her.
Getting married at Magnolia Manor 1843
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
