Great food and service! Restaurant was nearly full on a Wednesday afternoon, that should tell you something about its popularity. I was visiting from out of town and staying at the hotel where the restaurant is located.
Josh was our server. Stopped in as we are visiting from out of state. There was a short 15 minute wait for a table. The view of the lake was nice to have. The dining area was nicely filled. The food and service was just okay.
Came in for our 20th anniversary dinner. I saw a review on the Butter lettuce salad and I'm happy I tried it. One of the best salads I've ever had. The seafood bisque was incredible. Street corn was also the best I've ever had. Had a great meal and wonderful service by Teagan.
Been here twice and both times the service was friendly, food was fast, view was beautiful, and meal delicious. The salmon both times was cooked perfectly with a great crust. The salmon Alfredo was a large portion and the bucatini perfectly prepared.
Getting married at Freshwater Tavern
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
