From the reviews
My granddaughter had her wedding and reception here. The weather was great, so we had an outdoor wedding. Inside isn't real big but very comfortable for 75-100 people, probably. Nice layout and spectacular views of Muskegon Lake with all the sail boats on it.
Used this venue for wedding reception. It is a little small, but be sure to rent a tent and room will be no issue. I found most of my guests outside because of the incredible view. Bar and kitchen for catering and alcohol. If you set up the tables just right, it's a great place to rent for the price.
With COVID, keeping our original venue was no longer an option. The owners of Hagar's were insanely nice and kind. They understood and answered all our questions. To be honest, I was nervous as I did not actually get to put eyes on the venue until the day before the wedding, but the lake view is 100% to die for.
This is a great hall with beautiful views of Muskegon Lake. If there’s something you need, the staff here will do their best to help you with it.
Getting married at Hagar's Hideaway
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
