From the reviews

VERY NICE beach area with tons of room on a soft sandy beach! Well taken care of! Paid $7.00 for an all day park pass. Well worth it. Gradual decline in the water and clear sand below. It was like going to Florida beaches only cooler and friendlier to everyone!

I love this park. I drove all the way from Ohio just to see this beautiful beach and to see lake michigan. Such a beautiful site to see that words just can't be put into. I visited it most recently and it was really crowded but that's to be expected in summer.

We watched the sunset on the beach here and it was absolutely stunning. The sand is so soft and bright. It’s a decent walk from the parking area to the shoreline, but worth it. They have a huge park, a pier you can walk to a lighthouse and great public restrooms.

We absolutely loved this place! So much to do. They have a place called The Deck. It has food, drinks, bands playing, foose ball, corn hole, swings on the deck. It is fun for the whole family. Spend time at the beach and take a walk out to the light house. You do pay for parking. 10$. Highly recommend going.

Getting married at Pere Marquette Park

Pere Marquette Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
