From the reviews
I join my husband on his business trips to Hilo and we always stay here at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. It's usually clean and staff is always kind. Rooms are definitely dated and half the time the irons don't work (yes, irons no steamer).
Excellent location with a view of the bay. Located next to a beautiful park with Japanese style and great for walking. And on the the historic Banyan tree drive. Rooms are clean with a real hawaiian feel. Love this hotel for its Hawaii nostalgic feel.
It's an older property but for the most part you can't tell until you get into your room. It is very neat and clean and our oceanside room had some amazing views! Will def be back.
Getting married at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, a Trademark Collection by Wyndham
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
