The Inn At Mitchell House feels like my home away from home whenever I visit. The property is gorgeous and well cared for; and there is nothing better than looking out over the pond with one hand holding a beer and the other petting a friendly golden retriever.
When we decided to hold our wedding at the Inn at Mitchell House, we knew about the beautiful grounds, historic background, and great value of the Inn. It wasn't until working through the threat of bad weather that we knew the Inn's greatest asset - the innkeepers, Jim and Tracy.
Super couples getaway. Beautiful grounds. Cottage was comfy, welcoming, and cozy. Jim and Tracy are fabulous hosts. For the perfect getaway, the Inn at Mitchell House is the place for you. Highly recommend!
Tracy and Jim were the most gracious and interesting hosts we have ever had the pleasure of meeting and talking with. The property is beautiful and the history of the property is special. This was the most relaxing experience we have experienced ever.
Getting married at Inn at Mitchell House
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
