From the reviews
We stayed for several days in March assisting our youngest who just moved to this region. We had stayed once before when we were in Maine for a Summer wedding. This WILL BE our new home away from home when visiting from Ohio. What an extraordinary property in such a perfect setting!
We stayed four nights in early April at Inn by the Sea, and absolutely loved it there. The service at the hotel is great - everyone feels really down to earth, friendly, and really loves and knows their local area.
We’ve returned to the Inn By The Sea many times since we honeymooned there in 1990. Over the years it’s weathered renovations, a fire, and the pandemic, all the while remaining the most welcoming, beautiful and gracious resort I’ve ever visited.
Absolutely gorgeous property with exceptional staff and excellent location (20 minutes to downtown Portland during the morning rush). My wife and I stayed here for 4 days and it was unbelievable - morning walks to Crescent Beach and eating Tandem Bakery biscuits on the lawn.
Getting married at Inn by the Sea
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
