If you are into quirky 1950's era resorts and hotels this place is a charmer, on Kentucky Lake, with great access to Land Between the Lakes and Murray. Lodge and cottages available, I always take a cottage as the extra space and kitchen is worth it. The hotel has got that old times feel that I absolutely love.
We had a great experience here. Beautiful area, lots to do. They were able to accommodate our family reunion, and had options for everyone. We stayed in the cabins, which were clean and well stocked, and a great price, however we did have a little mouse guest (not surprising for being the woods!).
I have stayed here several times. We rent a cabin and they are very comfortable and quiet. Each cabin has a screen porch with different views. Last time we had a view of the water. The food at the lodge is great and the service is amazing. Everyone is friendly and professional.
Getting married at Kenlake State Resort Park
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
