From the reviews
A beautiful hotel away from the main hustle and bustle of the main business district of Cape May. Clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff and the restaurant has really good food. Still within a reasonable walking distance to the business district of Cape May. They also rent bicycles.
Spur of the moment stop, and we were so happily surprised! We got unique corner room 426, with a slightly obscured view of the beach, but the exceptional room was amazing! Being a corner room, it has a balcony that wraps the corner.
This was our 3rd or 4th girls trip to Cape May staying at LaMer. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Beach access is easy with great service. The pool area is lovely as well. There is a restaurant on site, the Pier House, with food & beverage service at the beach and pool.
The property is very clean, close to mostly everything, and the staff is very friendly. The "only" negative is they do not have any house slippers and security is lacking, anyone can easily go up to the guest rooms from the elevator. I hope they address that issue for their guests safety and security.
Getting married at La Mer Beachfront Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
