From the reviews

Lafayette Park, developed in 1832, is stunning. Beautiful path to walk through with a board walk to the ocean for a breathtaking view and a cool breeze. Lots of history at this location to read and learn. Nice playground for children and plenty of benches to set and enjoy the peaceful serenity.

Beautiful, peaceful park. Good for watching sunset and you can fish off the pier.

Very pretty city park. I imagine it makes a lovely venue for small events. I came for the unusual 2-headed cabbage palm and wasn't disappointed. There is a string of habitat signs on the bay side that leave the impression that the view of the water was perhaps cleared before.

Getting married at Lafayette Park

Lafayette Park is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
