First thing that happened was we checked in behind a pretty obnoxious family with 3 little kids. As we were on vacation and like to sleep, I was already assuming this family would be next to us. Staff was sympathetic but couldn’t remember how far away they were from us. We paid for the king river view upgrade.
This place is a bit of a hidden gem. Location. There are a couple of good restaurants, bar and a theater within a thousand feet. It's very quaint. I arrived at 7 pm on a Saturday and they had an envelope with my name & room key on the desk.
We were in town for a spontaneous trip to Manistee. The Inn is in a perfect location downtown with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Deanna, the manager, couldn't have been more kind and hospitable. Rooms slightly outdated but the price and hospitality far outweigh this.
My room didn't have the scenic view... however, the location was beyond perfect! Right behind a river with a good little trail/boardwalk & whatnot & a main drag with plentiful places to eat & drink. Well worth it if in the area...
Getting married at Manistee Inn & Marina
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
