We spent last weekend at the resort celebrating my daughter's wedding. The location is perfect, the facility is clean and well maintained, and the staff could not be more accommodating. It is the perfect spot for a family get away on the shores of Lake Michigan. I hope to make it back there next summer!
Stayed here for a few nights on a Michigan scenic highway adventure. Loved the location and cleanliness of the resort. Expect to go back in time with old decor in the rooms. Old but well maintained. Full size fridge/freezer too! The beach is beautiful. Unfortunately nature is eroding some of the dunes on shoreline.
This is the perfect place if you just want to get away. The atmosphere is so relaxed and quiet.There are great activities for the kids, and an amazing view of the lake! The amenities are simple, yet sufficient, and the owners are super friendly and helpful. Definitely a great place to be!
Getting married at Sunset Valley Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
