From the reviews
The atmosphere here is incredible. I spent the day sitting under this massive tree listening to podcasts and watching boats sail across the simmering blue water. Lots of families and friendly folk come to hangout here. There’s a bathroom that’s semi-clean ish.
A true Fairhaven gem. Just a 10-minute walk south of the village, the park rewards you with sweeping sky-and-ocean views and plenty of benches for a quiet sit-down. The engraved stone—“Here is sky, here is ocean, here is Life”—captures the mood perfectly.
Great place to hang out with alone and with your loved ones. The sunset is an absolute beauty. The park is dog friendly and has plenty of space to sit down and relax by the water.
For the absolute best sunset in Fairhaven, you must come here! Just a quick stroll down Harris St past the Amtrak Station, make a left after you cross the tracks, and you've arrived. There's a beach, plenty of grass, clean restrooms, a wash station for your kayak, plenty of space for your dog, and that view!
Getting married at Marine Park-Bellingham
Marine Park-Bellingham is a public beach or park, so a ceremony here almost always needs a permit from the managing city, county, or state parks office — and the rules matter: many public beaches cap your guest count, set ceremony windows, and restrict what you can set up (some ban chairs, arches, and amplified sound entirely). There's no on-site coordinator, catering, or weather backup, so you'll bring your own vendors and a rain plan. The payoff is a stunning setting at a fraction of a private venue's cost. Start with our public-beach permit guide, then call the local office to confirm this season's rules.
