Attended a wedding at the Newport Beach Civic Center. Great place to host a party. I didn’t know that the patio could be rented for events.
Holy S##T does Newport Beach have oodles of money. The public art, ultra-modern digs, landscaping and... land... Very very very impressive. Nice public restrooms too. $145 million (for a city of 85,000)
New sculptures to view & take photos of in the park. The colorful Popsicles sculpture has arrived! Take your Christmas pix with it as a SoCal novelty for those in more wintery climes!
The City of Newport Beach has several facilities available for rent to the public. This Community Room overlooks both the Sculpture Exhibition in Civic Center Park and the Civic Green. Many events are held here and it has been used often for weddings. It was open in mid-2013.
Getting married at Newport Beach Civic Center Community Room
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
