Nick’s Cove Restaurant & Oyster Bar offers great views, a comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. It was such a cute spot and somewhere we would definitely return. We ordered the Nick’s Cove Louis with bay shrimp, and it was wonderful.
OK, this place was AH-MAZING. We were staying at Dillon Beach and made a day trip to Point Reyes. By the time we were heading back, nothing was open along our drive except Nick's. This turned out to be wonderful luck on our part as it turned out to be our favorite meal of our entire trip.
A rainy evening with fireplace and view of weather on Tomales Bay. Delicious food and excellent service. Prices quite reasonable. Worth the drive from the east bay. We also saw the sealions at Chimmy Rock on the other side of Tomales. A day's adventure.
Getting married at Nick's Cove
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
