I had my wedding reception at the OCYC on October 12, 2020. I was originally supposed to have it at another location in April, but had to reschedule to covid. I worked with Bill in setting this up, and he was so incredibly helpful, informative, and great to work with.
Ocean City's Yacht Club. A place to get your child sailing lessons and a chance to compete in sailboat racing if he or she is so inclined. Fun social events. Opening night hors d'oeuvres show promise of good dining this year.
A Private membership club. OCYC is a warm and friendly community of boat owners and enthusiasts of all kinds. There are many events (laser racing, small crew racing, seasonal parties) for members throughout the extended summer season. A boat crane and storage yard available for smaller vessels.
Getting married at Ocean City Yacht Club
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
