Oh my gosh. OH MY GOSH! My sister had her wedding here on April 11th, and we stayed for a week. There were plently enough rooms and space for all the guests. The scenery was a dream, like living in a rainforest. Andrew gave us a tour of his garden and the resort.
16 members of my family recently shared this lovely plantation style home. Actually there are two on the property, and we filled one up! The rooms were large, with beautifully appointed bedrooms with comfy beds, private bathrooms, and a small area with sink, fridge and microwave.
Ohana Retreat was the perfect spot for our families to gather. We were close to capacity with 30 people in the two houses or 16 rooms. The layout of the houses is perfect for housing so many different family members to be comfortable and still have their own space.
Would highly recommend this retreat for large groups. From our intital inquiry to our final departure, communication and responsiveness to requests were exceptional. The grounds are stunningly beautiful with all the native flora and fruits. The house is quite spacious and provides many wonderful amenities.
Getting married at Ohana Retreat
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
