Solo girlies you can hit this place alone and feel safe. I believe once you establish that you are not the common mainland traveler, that you indeed respect the environment and those around you will receive the aloha spirit.

Royal Kona is a great hotel with all the Hawaiian vibes most people are looking for. It’s very open and airy. We had an oceanfront room on the 6th floor of the Bay Tower. It was a beautiful view. The hotel has all the amenities you would want. The pool area isn’t huge, but we always found a chair.

I love the Royal Kona Resort! I stayed there in September 2025, and it was my second time visiting. The rooms were clean, and the pool and on-site restaurant had such a relaxing, fun vibe. The mai tais and food were really good too.

Room had a great view and was generally clean. However the bathrooms did not have separate shampoo and conditioner. Also the patio was a bit dusty and not kept up to date. Generally the hotel was clean but there is a dated feel to it. But the room had an amazing view and that’s what you’re there for.

Getting married at Royal Kona Resort

Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
