We had our wedding reception here and it was amazing! The team was great getting the date booked, helping us plan the layout and scheduling deliveries for us! Our point of contact was super fun on the day of and made everything run very smoothly.
We got married at the Ocean Gateway and it was an incredible experience. Not only was it stunning and such a fun way to share Maine with our guests, but the entire staff was so kind and easy to work with. Their communication was prompt and clear and they made the entire process very low stress.
What a beautiful venue space. I attended a city events hosting many vendors and local Businesses connecting with hotel staff on the area. Great way to network and what beautiful views. Check this place out. It is also the Portland Visitors Center.

Getting married at Portland Ocean Gateway
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
