We chose Rod N Reel as the venue to host all of our wedding guests, and it truly exceeded our expectations. It offered every amenity we needed (and then some) which made the entire experience seamless and enjoyable for everyone involved.
I did not stay here but I did host the welcome drinks for my wedding here and many of my guests stayed here for the wedding. Lori was our main point of contact for organizing the welcome drinks and she definitely went above and beyond for us.
We attended the New Year’s Eve celebration. The dinner and band were very good, however, notably absent were signature cocktails and snacks at the party . We paid extra to have dinner before the party however, many attendees were there just for the party.
The best location right on the bay without having to go across the bridge. This was the perfect stay as they have 2 pools and a game room along with 5 delicious restaurants on site. We enjoyed this as a family vacay but will come back for a romantic stay next.
Getting married at Rod 'N' Reel Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
