Nice quiet location with beach access a short walk away. Front office staff were professional and easy to deal with. The Lodge is obviously an older building, but I didn't find anything during my stay that made me gross out or swear I'd never be back.
My stay at San Simeon Lodge was absolutely wonderful! The service was warm, welcoming, and genuine — the kind of hospitality that instantly makes you feel at home. The location is unbeatable — just steps from the ocean, with the soothing sound of waves and fresh coastal air setting the perfect tone for relaxation.
Traveling alone is what I can speak about. Easy in and out. 5 stars because for the price it's great. Check this out. The ocean is right there! Across the street is a place to walk and sit at the ocean. I heard no noise except for the ocean when the door was open. Parked in front of my place and walked right in.

Getting married at San Simeon Lodge
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
