I HAD MY WEDDING AT SAKOFA HAUS AND IT WAS NOTHING BUT AMAZING !! ME AND MY WIFE VIEW MANY VENUES PRIOR TO BOOKING SANKOFA AND NOTHING WOWED US LIKE SANKOFA HAUS .. THEIR DECORATOR NITA WAS SIMPLY THE BEST I GAVE HER A VISION AND SHE BROUGHT IT TO LIFE !!
I had my wedding at Sankofa Haus on Saturday April 4th, 2026. My husband and I were looking for a small, intimate venue with some of the space already slightly decorated/furnished. During each of our interactions, Mike the owner was enthusiastic, warm, kind, answered all of our questions and was very professional.
My husband has already posted his review, but here's mine with some more pictures! The venue felt very welcoming. The staff was very helpful with getting us ready for our big day! They recommended a food vendor that they have worked with before and they did not disappoint because everyone loved it!
I threw a party for my other half's 40th in Oct 2024 and couldn't have asked for a better venue. It's taken me forever to write this, but I still can't get over how truly amazing my experience with this Sankofa Haus was. From the initial visit to the end of the event, everything went smoothly.
Getting married at Sankofa Haus
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
