A Dream Escape—Perfect Location, Stunning Views, and Exceptional Service! Our stay at Snug Harbor Marina was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views, nestled in the heart of a truly perfect location for great birding, kayaking and pony watching.
What a wonderful place- family owned and operated. Clean- has a beach vibe with palm trees and sand. No Bs. Basic little cabin- was helpful to have a stove and oven- shower could be nicer but it’s totally worth the stay as it was clean and close to everything.
Just the perfect place to stay AND kayak/boat in Chincoteague! We stayed two nights, took the sunset cruise, and rented kayaks. The cabins have everything you need and are really cozy. They’re very private and quiet—we didn’t hear anything from the road or anyone around us, which surprised me!
Had a great boat experience with Captain John. Loved seeing the islands from the water. What I most appreciated was their proactive efforts to reschedule me when it looked like the weather was going to turn. I received a call two days before, and they offered me alternative times for my trip.
Getting married at Snug Harbor Marina & Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
