My favorite state park on the coast! The ceremony rock was so unexpectedly magical. I’ve stayed at both abalone and agate campground. I preferred abalone. Agate beach was phenomenal. I love all the outcroppings & over looks. Super walkable. The raccoons are WAYYY to friendly and not at all scared of ppl.
This is one of the parks you have to pay to get into...$8.00...and it is worth every penny. We trekked down the hill to Agate Beach, where, if you choose, you can take up to 15 pounds of Agates with you...we did not.
Formerly Patrick’s Point State Park, they recently changed the name but everything else is the same. Been coming here since the 90’s: this small state park is very special and unique. Being on the coast it doesn’t have the redwoods like Prarie Creek to the north or Humboldt to the south but it is gorgeous nonetheless.
We stayed at the campground and explored the park. It's quite large and very pretty. Our campsite was just ok. It was surrounded with blackberry bushes, no hook-ups but was level and quiet. We really enjoyed the Wedding Rock trail and look outs. Beautiful sunset and views.
