My wife and I had a wedding nearby, and this was the perfect room for what we needed. The rooms are newly renovated, so they are very clean and comfortable. The owners made it known when booking to reach out if we had any issues or complaints.
Firstly, this motel is immaculate. Gorgeous & modern with fun decor and high end amenities. It’s is very clean and spacious inside and out. My kids enjoyed the grounds and although the pool wasn’t open yet because it’s still chilly, the pool area looks very nice.
We stayed in one of the king size bedrooms. It was perfect for our family of 3 [child under 1]. The couch could turn into another bed. Our favorite part was the beach access across the street! There is a heated pool. Sadly we were unable to use it due to coming here early in the season. We would come here again!
Great place. Excellent remodel. It’s like rose motel with a cooler vibe. Great location between port Austin and port crescent state park. Great pool.
Getting married at Sun & Sand Resort
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
