Our stay at Sunset Key Cottages in Key West was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with exceptional care and hospitality that elevated the entire experience. A special shoutout goes to Leah, who went above and beyond in making sure every detail of our stay was perfect.
This is more than just a beautiful place to stay — it feels connected to the spirit of Key West in a very special way. The peaceful island setting, the cottages, the sunsets, and the quiet atmosphere make it feel like a place you remember long after you leave.
For the price the service should have been outstanding but I found the staff to be not very friendly. The beach bar doesn’t tell you they are adding a gratuity . We did have a beach server one day who was very nice. There are things I loved about this place but for the price I would not go back.
Another fabulous day at Sunset Key Cottages! Beautiful property located on a secluded island offering a large, peaceful beach area. Caesar is the best when it comes to drinks by the beach, towel service and even bringing over a raft to float on. I can’t say enough about the food, which is consistently delicious.
Getting married at Sunset Key Cottages
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
