“Another great thing about the Bates House is that not only is it beautiful but you can add as little or as much decoration as you want to embellish the venue.”
From the reviews
Incredible, both in the beautiful nature of the location and the support from Lise. We held our wedding her and could not speak more highly of the experience. Lise went above and beyond to support us as we found vendors, planned details, and navigated COVID.
The Bates House is a historic house inside of a memorial park. It’s a naturally beautiful location that offers lots of greenery for beautiful photos outside and a more clean/rustic indoor reception room.
My partner and I recently got married at the Bates House and it was an incredible experience! When you book the venue for your wedding, you get it for three days. We took advantage of this and had our rehearsal dinner there on Friday night, our wedding on Saturday, and a brunch there Sunday morning.
An absolute hidden gem of a venue! If our guest list was smaller, we would've had our wedding here. Thankfully, we took advantage and had my bridal shower here. The room, view, and grounds are gorgeous!!! Everyone couldn't get over how beautiful and well kept everything was. This is the PERFECT DIY venue!
Getting married at The Bates House
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
