Just an overall outstanding experience. We stayed two nights just to get away, and it was the best choice. We hung out in our gorgeous water facing room, and enjoyed the balcony and it's views. It was cozy and romantic, and creatively and tastefully decorated.
Unique southern gem! I stayed at the George for several nights for a work trip and it made it feel more like being on vacation. Extremely cozy bedding/pillows and robes provided for after shower. I also want to give a shout out to their exceptional staff member Tyler.
This is our second visit to the George and it only got better! We rent two rooms as our daughter was with us and they turned out to be suites with panoramic water views. Beautifully decorated in a sophisticated coastal style, the main lobby and public space are clad in pecky Cypress. It's breathtaking.
Everything is very well done at The George. The beautiful decor, luxurious bedding and robes, incredible food and cocktails and impeccable service along with the beautiful views and walkable location make this boutique hotel a must stay if you’re in the area!
Getting married at The George Hotel
Two things make the tour worth the drive. First, see the ceremony spot at the exact time of day you'd say your vows — a west-facing beach glows at sunset but bakes at noon, and you'll want to feel the wind, watch where the sun sits, and walk the path your guests take across the sand. Second, bring your real questions: the weather backup (where does the ceremony move if it rains or the wind kicks up?), who pulls the beach permit, the sound-ordinance curfew, the catering and bar policy, and exactly what's included — chairs, setup, and teardown on sand are where quotes quietly diverge. Peak beach dates book 12–18 months out, so if the tour feels right, ask what's open in your season before you leave.
